Something for Everyone

Our church believes that working together to give God all the glory he deserves.

To enable this to happen there are people and teams within the church community with a common vision. Come find one that works for you.

Weekly Bible club for youth age 2 – 16, Bible, memorization, games, snacks, singing, community service projects.

Ladies Ministry

Our Ladies Ministry holds monthly meetings (with summer break).  We like to study the Bible and share prayer requests.  We try to have a new community service project every 3 months.  We meet the second Saturday of the month at 11 a.m.

Senior Ministry

We are excited to be starting a new J.O.Y ministry (Just Older Youth).  We will be having planned activities, socials and trips.  Stay tuned because many new events are being planned for our folks age 50 and above!

Youth Ministries

We are so blessed that God called one of our own to lead our youth.  Pastor Matt plans and implements events for our youth of all ages.  We have recently started a new class on Sunday night for all youth and a class for teens every Wednesday at 7 p.m.  A variety of activities from Go-Karting, bon fires, glow egg hunts and trips are planned throughout the year.  We are thrilled to see the youth ministry growing.  Join us to make new friends who love and want to serve Christ as well as have fun with children their age.

Lakeside has the opportunity to support missions here and abroad with our membership in the Southern Baptist Association.  We also have missionaries that our church supports directly.  We love to have visits and updates from our missionaries and hold them up in prayer as they serve.

Discipleship Classes

Yearly we offer the MasterLife classes: An excellent resource to help persons move toward maturity in Christ, MasterLife is appropriate for both new Christians and experienced believers in Jesus Christ as Savior. In addition to gaining victory over areas of weakness, participants will be encouraged to master living in the Word, prayer, personal purity, witnessing, and other key disciplines of faith. This is a series of 4 books, 6 sessions each.

Vacation Bible School

We LOVE VBS – join us for a week of fun!  Music, memorization, Bible lessons, crafts, snacks and game time make our evenings go fast!  We have classes from 4 years old through adults!  Join us for a week of excitement, learning and fun!

Sunday School

We meet weekly at 9:45 a.m.  There are classes for everyone, and nursery for age 2 and below.  This is a time to dig deeper into the Word and grow with others.

Men’s Ministry

Our men get together monthly to eat, fellowship and minister to each other .

Choir Ministry

Weekly practice and praise.

Community Service Projects

We contribute to our community in a variety of ways.  Every Thanksgiving we gather food items for an entire feast:juice and milk, rolls, turkey, pie and all the trimmings – even extra whipped cream!  Dozens of “Blessing Baskets” are assembled by the Awana children who pray over the box and insert a greeting card.  The boxes are then delivered to those in our church and Newport who need a helping hand.

Other activities include winter gloves and boots drive for the school across the street.  We collect socks for the homeless, and food for local food pantries.  This past year we hosted our first annual “Soup-er Bowl Sunday” with a fellowship luncheon and canned soup drive for Oaks of Righteousness.  We are eager to help and try to host community service projects every quarter.
